Great video was informative to watch, looking forward to the 60 to see what it can do. Sounds like it might be the winner for MP but i will have to wait for the video to see.

Looks like the 47 run out of legs pretty much every time, no energy makes it easier to defeat not sure about the missile lofting each time seems like most missiles in DCS do that, again i have no idea if that is a normal missile thing to do or something else.

Keep it up Jabbers doing a great job and thanks, appreciate it.

I think the smokeless C variant is going to be the really scary one really. Both A models can be seen from really far away, so if you're aware you will be able to know the missile is coming even from a TWS launch. However with the C you will have no idea until you get the RWR signal when the missile goes pitbul.

Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals.

Jabbers' next videos will really tell us a lot about that. In this video he seemed to imply the next A model to be the most deadly because of it's speed, especially at <20 nmi.

On several trials, he did seem to wait until the RWR went off to go defensive, even though I'm sure he saw the missile coming. If the C can be notched as easily as the A-M47, then it seems liable you can trash it almost as easily as the A-Mk47.

Of course, as Jabbers says, these were optimal test conditions, where he knew where the missile was coming from and knew roughly when it would be launched. In a real scenario, all you may get is the RWR alert. I look forward to seeing the tests for both missiles.

Another side effect of this missile/airframe combination is that the F-14 is going to become exactly what the Iranians used it for, an airborne weapon of terror for opposing pilots. Anyone who watches the signal strength from the Tomcat get higher is going to immediately begin at least defensive posturing, which is going to give any other aircraft working with the Tomcat the chance to take their own shots.

Thanks Jabbers !

I was really looking forward to a video like this one, and it made me realise how I got mislead by a lot of comments to believing that the AIM 54 was extremely unreliable against fighters or maneuverable targets in general. I was expecting far worse than that !

It seems quite easy to notch, but as said above, you knew the missile was coming in the first place... and what if the missile was shot under 15 Nm ? That's only the first version anyway !

I'm really curious to see what the other A and C model have to offer and what tactics could be put in place with the F14 !

Keep up the good work !
