In 2.5.3 my mission used to load around 3 minutes max.

When 2.5.4 came out it started to load for around 9-10 minutes even though I didn't change my graphic settings for higher.

It basically looks like that:

-it takes 3 mins to load to part "World Preload 60/60"

-then like +6 to 7 additional minutes spent on final "Please wait..."

It became a bit frustrating

I had 2.5.4 open beta installed for some time - just when it got released... and it didn't have that problem then. So I have no clue what could cause it.

Are you running it off a hard disk? Or are you using an SSD?

SSD is an absolute must for DCS World. A fast NVMe drive is great, although a SATA SSD should still be pretty good.

I fairly recently got an NVMe drive, and loading times are merciful in 2.5.4 OB, but still no screaming hell. I guess DCS just has an awful lot of shyte to shovel when loading missions.

I remember when I got my cheap SATA SSD and DCS 1.5 would load in the blink of an eye :)

You must not use DCS in conjunction with a HDD, it's a Sakrileg.

If you do so, you will without a doubt, punish yourself.

kidding aside, DCS is one of the few apps I know that REALLY need SSD speed to work as intended. The faster the better but any SSD is 100x better than the fastest SAS 15k HDD

I can also vouch for the absolute necessity of a SSD. NVME will give best results, but SATA III will still be a mind-blowing improvement over a HDD. It's really no longer a viable option to use a HDD for DCS any more.

I can't say for certain since I have Release and only ran acouple of times but I think yes it was a bit longer, even tho not that much that stuck in my mind, I'll try again now.

Are other people still experiencing this?

Since roughly 2-3 weeks ago, I've had VERY long load times, and that's despite using a pair of SSDs, one for windows, one for just DCS
