Tasmanian Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 Hi, I am flying A-10A armed with 6 Mavericks (LAU-88, AGM-65*3 on pylons 3 and 9). The problem is that only the Maverick, which is attached to the center of the launcher performs the loft maneuver correctly. The ones which are attached to the left and to the right of the pylon turn aside and miss target in most scenarios. This happens with both "D" and "H" versions. I suppose that the reason is that Mavericks to the left and to the right of the pylon are rotated but the "navigation code" does not take this into account, so instead of pitching up the missiles go sideways. Looks like a bug. I am attaching a track which demonstrates the issue. P.S. The topic was originally created in Flaming Cliffs thread, but I was suggested to post here, probably, because the issue is related to AGM-65, not A-10A aircraft. Track is attached there and I can't re-upload it: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=231144
Shadow KT Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 I thought my mavericks were acting a bit weird 'Shadow' Everybody gotta be offended and take it personally now-a-days
Shadow KT Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 (edited) Yeah, I thought there was something wrong, but you gave me an idea to test it out. So, as you said, can confirm, if shot from the side pylon of a triple rack, the missile veers off to the side, trying to correct its maneuver later. Depending on the launch parameters, it might be able to barely make it back on target, but most of the time it falls short. All this is demonstrated in my track. I am not sure, but the issue might lie in this: I am not 100% sure, but should the motor be burning from the middle whole ? EDIT: The motor exhaust IS the middle whole: Weird thing is, this is fired from the right wing on the right side pylon on the triple rack and the flame is off-centered to the left, which would make you think it would veer to the right, but it actually goes left (vice verse for when fired from the left wing) Did another test with a full triple rack just to test if the left pylon Maverick on the triple rack will act in a opposite direction to the one on the right pylon on the triple rack and it does go the opposite way, so this definitely has to do with offset exhaust Edited January 31, 2019 by Shadow KT 'Shadow' Everybody gotta be offended and take it personally now-a-days
Shadow KT Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 A more simple explanation is that the missile is not actually affected by the exhaust position, but it just tries to loft up, but because it is turned to the side, it lofts sideways 'Shadow' Everybody gotta be offended and take it personally now-a-days
ED Team NineLine Posted January 31, 2019 ED Team Posted January 31, 2019 Good work guys just watched the track and something does seem to be wonky, will report it now. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

But again, thanks for the complete report, makes turning these in faster and easier. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
Shadow KT Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 Glad to hear, and have helped. It was really effecting my SA-11 DEAD attempts in the A-10 on Blue Flag. Just to make it clear that, connected or not, the offset exhaust is present on all mavericks shot, no matter the position on the rack. This made me think and I should test it out, if this can bee countered by off-setting the plane from target Cheers 'Shadow' Everybody gotta be offended and take it personally now-a-days
