DeepDrummer Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 Can someone explain what SysRQ means as a keyboard binding for Screenshot? I had a folder full of screenshots and just wondered what I hit to make those. For now I cleared the field of that binding but I sit here wondering what it was that I was hitting to make those files. I have taken screenshots using shift+Printsceen for a full scrrenshot and alt + Printscreen to take a shot of the active window which copies the shot to the clipboard and worked with it from there. Ramsay Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 (edited) SysRq is the unshifted state of the PrtScn button i.e. it's Print Screen without a modifier (Lshift, LCtrl, etc.) Edited February 1, 2019 by Ramsay i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440
DeepDrummer Posted February 1, 2019 Author Posted February 1, 2019 Ahhh I see. Like the old days. Thanks. I will remove the binding from my other copy as well. Win 10 pro 64 bit. DeepDrummer Posted February 2, 2019 Author Posted February 2, 2019 I can confirm that this happens with alt-printscreen and shift printscreen as well. Even clearing the dimmed key-bind does not prevent the saving of screenshots to the screenshot folder it makes. It is not a problem but something to be aware of and in fact, it may save me some time not pasting to a paint program. The stock behavior is a nice touch in fact. One can get a folder full of pics without knowing however it until now. Now I know. Thanks for the help Ramsay. I guess I am old enough and type well enough, I never noticed what year they added SYSRQ and never noticed it before. Win 10 pro 64 bit. Intel i7 4790 4 Ghz running at 4.6. Eldur Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 Ahhh I see. Like the old days. Thanks. I will remove the binding from my other copy as well. Good luck there. Any mod may move this thread right into the bug section now, please. Screenshot function somehow seems to be hard coded regardless of keybinds. Reported this years ago, but never got any reaction to it.
