Hi

Can anyone advise please re the gun trigger (Button 1) on the Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS.

Mine is sticky when first pressed to stage one but OK at stage two.

If pressed a few times it's smooth but if not used for a while say like 20 minutes it's a little sticky to fire but then is OK.

It's kind of like the trigger is not quite centred and catches on the side.

Anyone have this, or is it normal?

Thanks Allan :helpsmilie:

Not something I've noticed on the trigger. Sounds like something sugary (think cordial or fizzy drink or coffee) was spilled in there somehow. Other than that, no idea, sorry.

Thanks mate, no never spilt anything. HOTAS is only a couple of months old and has was like that from new.

I'll have a closer look maybe a bit of lube required. :joystick:

I sprayed a little silicon (very little spray) lubricant in it. Fixed the issue

I don't think it's catching/ I think there is some grease inside

Great I'll give that a try , thanks. I did try using a small amount of Wahl Oil which was good for a while but didn't last.

+1

I think it is grease in mine.

It generally only happens on the first press of the day cold.

When I say cold, I am talking around 15c. This is near where I start my day as I wait for the fire to warm the room.

After the first press, it tends to work perfect all day long.

I may try the silicon you suggested. I suspect it will work perfectly.

I think the grease is simply thickening in the cold in my case.

My stick has been doing that since new.

I spent around 20 years twisting wrenches for a living.

I used grease often to hold things in place during assembly like uncaged bearing rollers.

Grease between 2 flat things that come together indeed tend to stick a bit when moving them apart. I may try a bit of silicon spray when I get some in stock. Good idea!

I saved that great pic for possible future use. I often wondered how it looked internally.

Thanks for that. :)
