I had been using easy comms but now have them turned off. I'm trying to understand a few things here and after reading tons, I still have a couple questions.

1) Typically, who do you communicate with using COMM 1 and also COMM 2? Are they set to where lets say COMM 1 would do all ATC and Comm 2 for wingman / tanker etc?

2) I loaded a mission someone made and no frequencies were listed. How do I know which frequency to dial in to communicate? I can pull up the airfield freq. but cant find the tanker or AWACS.

Thanks for the help.

I always use COMM 1 for ATC/AWACS and COMM 2 for tanker and flight out of habits from my F-16 sim days. In the F-16 (at the time) COMM 1 was only for certain freq ranges and COMM 2 was for other certain freq ranges. ATC freqs could only be tuned on the COMM 1 radio.

The Hornet (and Harrier) don't seem to have any freq limitations between the two COMMs though.

Then, the mission was made badly. From the F10 map, you cannot see these frequencies, in fact you have to know them before. Just like in RL. Very often, mission designers do not really care about such details, so maybe, the frequency is 251MHz since this is the standard frequency when you put those assets (i think:huh: )

1. It's up to you. Both radios are the same/ have the same presets. The two radio setup is simply so you don't have to cram all coms on to 1 radio, which would likely result in you missing info. I personally keep one on my flight frequency, and use the other one freely, switching between ATC, AWACS, Tankers, etc as needed. It doesn't matter which one you set to what

2.Open the mission in the editor to find out what they are. They should have been listed in the briefing but sometimes editors forget.
