MRaza Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Will the A-10C ever have its own realistic rwr sounds and not the ones from FC3? (And on that note will we ever get a set of f15 rwr sounds as well?)
Deezle Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 The RAE mod is excellent. It is a little out of date though and needs tweaking to work properly in the current DCS version. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/421081/ Intel 9600K@4.7GHz, Asus Z390, 64GB DDR4, EVGA RTX 3070, Custom Water Cooling, 970 EVO 1TB NVMe 34" UltraWide 3440x1440 Curved Monitor, 21" Touch Screen MFD monitor, TIR5 My Pit Build, Moza AB9 FFB w/WH Grip, TMWH Throttle, MFG Crosswinds W/Combat Pedals/Damper, Custom A-10C panels, Custom Helo Collective, SimShaker with Transducer

Snoopy Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 Yes I have it but is it accurate to real life? The chance of getting the actual real world sounds is slim. v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
al531246 Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 The chance of getting the actual real world sounds is slim. Well a bit more than slim - it ain't gonna happen. The other year I thought I'd take a wild stab in the dark and write to Raytheon to see if they'd be willing to share the sounds. As is usually the case these-days the sounds themselves aren't classified but they're proprietary information. But I believe Beamscanner has touched on this before - the sounds [on this particular RWR] are based on the PRF of the threat emitter. i.e. if the emitter's PRF is 1000 Hz, you hear a 1000 Hz tone. That kind of idea. Intel i5-8600k | EVGA RTX 3070 | Windows 10 | 32GB RAM @3600 MHz | 500 GB Samsung 850 SSD

Snoopy Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 Why? Aren't the hornet and upcoming tomcat rwr sounds realistic? Because ED considers the A-10C feature complete aka no updates to the current module. I’d the won’t fix improper things like a windmilling engine producing 3000 psi or the flaps bleeding down when engines are off they ain’t gonna add new sounds. v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
eaglecash867 Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 I recently installed the Deadlyfishes' DCS SFX Overhaul Collection v2k from this site https://throughtheinferno.com/mods/. So far, I like it better than the stock DCS sounds for the A-10C. Haven't tried any of the other jets covered by the mod yet.
