[CORRECT AS IS] SA Page on Right DDI activates ACM mode?

Hello,

I have this weird thing where when I have SA Page on the Right DDI and the Radar on the Left, when I switch to the SA Page (Sensor Switch Right I believe) it activates a ACM Mode for a brief moment and sometimes it locks random Targets in front of me, which is annoying...

Having the SA on the Left, doesnt trigger this, but the line with: (ADV- ) blocks the BRA, when the SA Page is on the left.

Greetings

If you're in A/A ACM mode the SS switch toggles between ACM radar modes. SSS Right will go to AACQ (auto acquisition) mode, SSS Left will go to WACQ (wide acquisition) mode, so if you want to reassign the TDC to another DDI you'll need to exit A/A ACM mode.

Yeah but i am not in ACM mode just in the normal radar mode

AACQ isn't an ACM mode, it works in the normal radar mode, it just locks up the first target in front of you on your radar. It's Sensor Select Right - that's why the radar's default position is on the right DDI, because you can't switch priority to the right DDI when the radar is on the left DDI.

I got the same "issue" - which seems to be the real thing.

workaround:

SSS down, SSS right... so you take the lower display for not to enable AACQ

Well, the (current) manual says the following:

Sensor control switch

Left: Assigns TDC priority to the LDDI. If TDC priority is already assigned to the LDDI and LDDI is radar display, commands radar to track mode STT when TDC is over a radar return. If radar is tracking, commands break lock (not un-designate).

Right: Assigns TDC priority to the RDDI. If TDC priority is already assigned to the RDDI and RDDI is radar display, commands radar to track mode STT when TDC is over a radar return.

So, it might not be that simple. Several comments:

1. AACQ isn't mentionned here surprisingly, although it is mentionned later

2. It says normal lock (with TDC over radar return) should not occur if the RDDI is not the radar display

3. It says it should be possible to use the LDDI as the radar display

Again, though, how AACQ integrates with all that is not mentionned, and also, it is possible that the section is incorrect and will be modified.

Yeah that's missing the other function of SS Right - which is if the TDC isn't over a target it will lock up the closest enemy target (though incidentally this isn't working very well in the Open Beta). I'm not saying you can't put the radar on the left, just that the default is right for a reason - it'll work perfectly fine if you have a page on the right that doesn't need TDC priority (like the stores page or FPAS or whatever), it's just there's obviously a conflict between AACQ on the left DDI and changing TDC priority to the right as one control can't do both things. It's possible AACQ is meant to switch to SS Left if the radar is on the left DDI - but I don't know if that's how it works in the real thing or not.
