CHARITY1317 Posted March 9, 2019 Posted March 9, 2019 Any attempt to play missions, campaigns, or instant actions results in the settings being in "game" mode instead of "sim" mode. The only exception is tutorials which are in sim mode. I set my settings to the "simulation" preset and have the box "Use these options for any mission" clicked yet these seem to have no effect. Have tried uninstalling the game but that had no effect.
MistahBobbo Posted March 9, 2019 Posted March 9, 2019 When you first get into DCS, choose Options (the gear icon in the upper left of your menu screen), go to the GAMEPLAY tab and ensure that Game Flight Mode is NOT checked. That should do it. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "What a long strange trip its been..." "VFA-143"
CHARITY1317 Posted March 9, 2019 Author Posted March 9, 2019 It is off that's my problem, no matter what I change the settings to in the Gameplay tab it doesn't change the settings when I try to play the game. My current settings are Tool Tips checked, Labels set to none, F10 View set to All, F10 Map User Marks checked, Icons NATO, English, Imperial, G-Effects Realistic, and Use these settings for any missions checked. But if I try to play anything but a tutorial I get the Game mode settings.
Dannyboy31415 Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 I've got the same problem. I've unchecked the game flight mode box. The DCS options.lua file contains the following line: ["easyFlight"] = false, Despite this, the Mig 29 from flaming cliffs comes in with the "cheat" radar up on the top right hand side of the screen and the F-18's controls are in game mode, not sim mode. Was a solution ever found?
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted August 1, 2019 ED Team Posted August 1, 2019 also check game avionics in the options, if it is on you will still see the easy radar Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Ramsay Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 TL;DR: Was a solution ever found? It sounds like • DCS>Options>Misc. - Overlays, Game Avionics Mode = ON has been enabled at some time, turning it OFF should fix your issue. Detail: I've got the same problem. I've unchecked the game flight mode box. This is • DCS>Options>Gameplay - Game Flight Mode=OFF Despite this, the Mig 29 from flaming cliffs comes in with the "cheat" radar up on the top right hand side of the screen The "cheat" radar is • DCS>Options>Misc. - Overlays, Game Avionics Mode = OFF and the F-18's controls are in game mode, not sim mode. The F-18C (like many modules) has two control schemes • Options>Controls - F/A-18C Game • Options>Controls - F/A-18C Sim Make sure to bind your controls using the 'F/A-18C Sim' profile. However it's likely the Overlay, Game Avionics Mode is effecting the Hornet's systems modelling. Note: if you've created any missions in the past, it's possible they've been saved with 'Game' options 'baked in', so will need to be edited/re-saved with your desired setting (Mission Editor - Set Mission Options, checkboxes). i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440
Dannyboy31415 Posted August 2, 2019 Posted August 2, 2019 The Game Avionics mode was the culprit. I'm slightly embarrassed to admit how long I'd had this problem for but I'm super keen to get stuck in now. Thanks to all who responded
