Newbie Trim Tabs

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

A real newbie question hear

I use the up and down arrows for the trim tabs however, I rarely get the plane to fly level, I always seem to be between two settings

Is there a way to make the tabs less sensitive and or is there another method ?

Also do you guys get the plane trimmed exactly or do you just do it approximately?

I have a CH Products Fighter Stick (without Throttle).

Thanks in advance for any info.

The trim is not sensitive enough for really precise trimming... if you want to have perfect trim for level flight set auto pilot to altitude hold and then the speed settles you can release the auto pilot and the plane will be trimmed... if your speed changes though, you'll need to trim again.

I personally just trim to best aproximate

In the Su-25 you can trim to better precision since this aircraft has advanced flight model

A possible solution you can attempt is to navigate to your LockOn/Config Folder and open the Contactor.cfg file with Notepad:

Edit the first Line - Default as follows:

TrimmerGain = 1.0;

to a lesser value, eg

TrimmerGain = 0.3;

Experiment with the values and see if that helps.

I think that is a parameter for force feedback joysticks.
