Naruto Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 (edited) coconut ???????? π5k+ Backer 2h Nice to hear that the developers of DCS have received a headset. See 40:39 in this interview: https://alert5podcast.podbean.com/e/scramble-04-matt-wags-wagner/ 4 Wags’ impression was that it was impressive, great resolution and clarity, but demanded huge performance, not attainable today. He added they had identified the terrain engine (not “train engine” as I first heard it) as gobbling most of the performance at the moment, and they’ll try to improve things there. Looking promising! https://forum.pimaxvr.com/t/eagle-dynamics-dcs-have-received-a-pimax-5k/16945 Who hoo look like optimization can begin with the Pimax. Wags now considers the Pimax 5K+ as Gen 2 HMD (44:27) and has high praise for it. dburne Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 That does sound good , however if the performance is just not there I would not be interested. Phantom88 Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Nice to hear they're working on the game engine to make VR Performance better. Patrick
A Hamburgler Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 That’s good news to all VR users. Look what just the shader mod did for VR performance now imagine the devs actually workin on solutions to improving performance. Should be a major difference.
Harlikwin Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Yeah, I heard that in the podcast and thought it was interesting. Maybe its the deffered rendering aspect that we all got locked into is part of it. In any event I'm glad to hear they are working on a fix... Just pop off the brackets and install some 3d printed ones and you're all set. If you don't have a 3d printer the brackets can be printed for about 10 bucks.
