ViFF Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 (edited) Anybody got any tips what will be the best way for a multiplayer mission running on dedicated server to get the most number of client spawnable slots of F-18 & F-14 groups to spawn on the deck of the Stennis? Has anybody mapped the spawn points yet? - reason I'm asking is that I want to make sure I don't place a static in a spot that may overlap on a spawn point... Thanks in advance! Edit: found the following info so far: Spawning on the carrier has some pretty basic rules for ramp starts. It will spawn you based on where objects are at on the carrier and when you spawn. Spawning at mission start: 4 spawns on the "street" section. After the mission has started you cannot spawn there. Spawning at any time: Elevator 2, 3, and 4 each have two spawn points next to each other. It will always spawn on elevator 2 first, then 3/4 (I forget). Some caveats, spawning may be different with the Tomcat due to its size. Forrestal class will probably have a different setup due to its elevator configuration. Plus ED might add/change spawns in the future, but this is how it currently works (2.5.4) So the 4x spawn points on the "street" section will be irrelevant for missions running on dedicated servers as they start running immediately after loading (don't pause on load). My understanding is that we should be able to get 6 clients able to spawn in parallel on Elevators 2, 3, and 4. However, taking into account the size of the F-14 this may not be the case. S! Baco Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 (edited) for now we are going to need two Stenis at leats or maybe a Stennis and a Vinson Edited March 12, 2019 by Baco
NeilWillis Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 You can get 2 cold starters on the corral, and 2 cold starters on the EL4 spot plus 4 hot starters on the cats. I believe any more joiners would just have to wait until those first 8 are clear before the slots become available for the next batch of 8. If too many try to spawn you just get a message that your start will be delayed.
Wrecking Crew Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 Anyone know if the Carl Vinson will support the Tomcats? Adixylian Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 As far as I know, atm you can't put more than 4 planes on the carrier. It just sends them to the nearest airport. You could've done it few updates earlier... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
TonyG Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 I’ve got 8 Hornets and 6 Tomcats on the Stennis for our group multiplayer training server. Put each airplane in its own group. 9800X3D, MSI 5080 , G.SKILL 64GB DDR5-6000, Win 11, MSI X870, 2/4TB nVME, Quest 3, OpenHornet Pit
Adixylian Posted March 16, 2019 Posted March 16, 2019 I managed to do it succesfully by creating flights of 2 AI aircrafts, Hot start on the Stennis. You can copy / paste them to Stennis as much as you want. Just change the AI --> Client when you are done. Hopefully they will not spawn on top of each other :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Roadrunner Posted March 16, 2019 Posted March 16, 2019 you place an AC on Stennis and give it RampPosition 1, place the next and repeat until you have all AC you need. key is, at least ONE rampstart slot must be free to place another plane.
