Refueling - Jester is great, but he needs to learn when to shut up....

Could we get an option for him to not keep cracking the same lines over and over during refueling? Maybe only use those lines once a flight? I would be nice to be able to get useful stuff, like fuel state without repeating the Luke Skywalker stuff over and over again. He needs to be smart enough to realize his likelihood of going for a swim is directly proportional to how much he distracts ME from the task at hand!

 

Maybe a little logic that after a couple attempts he realizes its time to let you focus? Either that or a HOTAS button up front to eject the back seat only?

I Think you can tell him to stop talking entirely for the duration of your refueling via the jester -utility menu.

Indeed you can, but it's nice to get the fuel quantity callouts though.

 

 

I guess once one get's good at hitting the basket, it'll be less of a nuisance.

Exactly! Jester is great. My refueling in the f14, pretty rough.

You have to work that out with your RIO in the ready room after the flight. Arguing in the aircraft is unprofessional and leads to fist fights in the catwalk later.

 

Be nice to Jester, he may save your arse someday.

There is a bug where he sometimes get stuck in a loop while trying to tank. He just ends up either repeating the same thing over and over or going through all his tanking lines. I've had this a couple of times out of the couple of dozen refuels I've done with Jester in the back. Possibly thats whats you had going on.

Yes I've had Jester stuck in a loop saying the same things over and over again non stop until I got it in the basket, there should at least be a time delay between what he says not non stop talking the whole time trying to get the basket

This makes sense. I’ve noticed some occasions where what he is saying totally doesn’t match what is happening when he says it.

I've plugged in, filled up and flown off and jester will still be going through his lines over and over.

 

Have to disable him entirely, mute doesn't work, then reenable him after his time out
