In real mig-29 is not possible to lock friendly target, in lockon it is.

is it? please more explanation on this, what's involved, does this applies to AS's only, how it is on real SU-27/33 then?

I used to bitch about Fulcrums flight model in LO, screaming my lungs out how it's undermodelled and f**ked up in general!

I hoped that FC would improve Fulcrum but the only revision was done with HUD. Now it only looks like it should but still not functional enough.

AC contacts are presented like dashed lines (bandits) and Double dashed lines (friendy) but that's just not it.

IRL all Radar and EOS contacs on MiG-29A HUD look the same, you need to bug it and press Interrogate button (white dial in the center of the stick to declare). Of course IFF isn't modelled in LO-FC.

Do not compare MiG-29AS to A and C models from LOFC. Upgraded AS airframes host NATO IFF transponders. Not sure how it works but that might answer the question of not locking friendlies!

You also said that during 360 rolls you experience a lot of inertia causing your aircraft to roll a bit more than you'd want it. That's an issue of Simple Flight modelling.

IRL MiG-29A rolls much quicker than in LOFC and has a way better turn performance (deg/sec). Higher AOA limits are also possible by overriding AOA limiter.

There's also a Economy fuel flow switch available that limits RPM to 84% when toggled.

I mentioned these fact for 2 many times, but threads were usually hijacked with:

"So what?! F-15 and AIM-120 is also porked"

type of answer.

So there's nothing we can do about it.

BTW for all AIM-120 lovers: It ain't that sticky IRL!

Yup...It's great at high subsonic speeds but during 9G manuevers you'll probably G-loc so there's no point dogfighting in Eagle with reallistic blackout & redout setting.

And acceleration is also poor, not to say it bleeds speed too fast during turns. It's a heavy plane with powerful engines so it should accelerate much better with nose below horizon + Maxed AB.

I think so, you are right, but I had to compare this planes because we got this jets in our army :D And everybody have to know that it is not possible to compare same type because every state got some small improovements or upgrades on their migs.

But I agree - about that IFF.

The "no airbrake when gear down"-restriction is because the airbrake also moves on the lower side of the plane (the brake of the Flanker family does not). At a certain AoA while landing you could damage the airbrake. Thats why it has to be kept close when gear is down.
