Hi All,

I'm having a really hard time tuning the pitch axis. I've got the curve set at 38 with a deadzone value of 10.

I'm using a Logitech extreme 3d pro. The aircraft handles really well to a point but then no matter how fine I am on the controls it's entering high and low speed stalls.

I'm having the hardest time dogfighting in this, still haven't been able to beat an AI MiG 29 in a guns only fight, I feel like I can't hold the aircraft in that sweet spot its either way too much elevator or nowhere near enough and the difference between those two in control input on my stick is minute.

Thanks

I would say your curve is too high.. while it helps you with small input it makes the curve to steep at half inputs.

I would not go above 25 30 max no matter the size of the stick

Thanks, I'll try that.

33 was always my go to curve for pretty much all aircraft in all sims (particularly in WW1 and WW2 aircraft for rudder). Works pretty well in all aircraft I fly in DCS but the Tomcat is just a whole different beast. I've snapped so many wings off and I've seen others win tight turn fights but it's beyond me at the moment.

As "helpful" as any curves are they are not generating precision out of thin air but rather steal it from other areas of the authority range. Gaining that precision near the centre will cost loosing it at the outer edges of the matrix - and that is where you are when dogfighting. When using curves a "tiny" pull on the joystick can result in a "significant" movement to the control surfaces producing instability and/or stall. I don't know what can be done to Logitech extreme 3d pro but real-life stick extension is IMHO a far better way to gain precision than curves.

Never say never, Baby!

The deadzone at 10 is way too much

Deadzones are only there to prevent the "input noise" of your joystick from being taken into account by the game, so that when your stick is centered, the "virtual stick" is too instead of moving a bit everywhere

+ the massive curves....

if your stick is THAT unprecise that you NEED such deadzones, then you should buy an other ( and have a look at the T16000M )
