Multiplayer - Clicked "Start"...then nothing...what's going on??

Hi guys,

I'm in major need of a computer/internet expert:

Here's the problem: I'm wanting to connect to a multiplayer server, I type in the IP address (I've tried multiple servers and get the same problem), the default port of 10308 and connection speed of 128/128. Now, I click Start and -the first time I do this- it changes to a "Cancel" button, presumably while it tries to connect but then changes back to a "Start" button. Every time after that, it'll only change to a "Cancel" button for a split second before changing back...almost like it isn't even trying. I've exhausted an entire afternoon trying to get this to work, I've tried at least 10 different servers that other people seem to have no problem on, it just will not connect to anything. I've disabled the windows firewall (which is the only firewall I have running) but to no avail. I've reinstalled Lock on from completly clean 1.00 version in the install order of:

V1.00 - LOMAC

V1.1b - Flaming Cliffs (Download Version)

Season Upgrade

Movie Upgrade

I play other games online without trouble, including:

FSX

Delta Force: Joint Ops

Conflift Vietnam

CFS3

At this point, I'm just going to have to give up. I've tried everything and it just won't do it! Can anyone suggest anything that I haven't already tried? Some info that may help:

Broadband Connected via Hardwired Ethernet Router

Firewalls Disabled

Internet Connection refreshed

Renewed IP Address

Running on a P4 3.0Ghz machine

If anyone would like to arrange to assist me via remote, I have and am able to use the Windows "Remote Assistance" tool, for those who want to take a look for themselves.

Cheers in advance for any suggestions

yeah, what Ironhand said... I think it's the lockon version mismatch.

About the port forwarding... you don't actually need to enable port forwarding if you are only joining another server, you only need it if yuo want to be able to host a game.

if you have purchased both original LockOn and Flaming Cliffs addon, make sure you install LockOn (v1.0), then Flaming Cliffs (v1.1), then patch 1.11 then patch v1.12B. Also install the seasons pack... all this available from LockOn.ru site.

I have same problem too. I'm installed LockOn (v1.0), then, yesterday, Flaming Cliffs patch v1.12B, and I also installed the seasons pack. I can play single, but on the NET over HyperLobby pro 3.9.111 I can't, why. I was forwarded 10308 port and disabled firewall.

Can you help me plaese?

OK thank you Frost1e, it is all very similar, and I don't know what is first, second and last!? Wery confusing markings. In my opinion, that is the right order:

1. LockOn 1.0

2. LockOn 1.02

3. Flaming Cliffs 1.1

4. Flaming Cliffs patch 1.12a (web)

5. Flaming Cliffs patch 1.12b (web)

Is it all right?

Sort of. ;)

When installing Flaming Cliffs over Lock-on, the 1.02 patch is not needed (in fact not recommended). Also the 1.12a patch & the 1.12b patch are one in the same except that 1.12b has vista support.

1, Lock-On (MAC or ACS)(1.0)

2, Lock-On Flaming Cliffs (1.1)

3, Flaming Cliffs patch (1.12a/b)
