secretcode Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 As the title says, I would like to know if there is any way to add a button to activate the afterburner as in the F18.
Nealius Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 I would like this as well. With my X52 I cannot select 100% MIL power. I'm either at 99% or straight into early-stage afterburner because my physical throttle has no clear detent. There's this "stiff" region between 95% and AB, but again, it's impossible to "feel" where MIL is and where AB begins.
SandMan23 Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 You can easily discern throttle ranges (especially) and the MIL / AB end of the range by the throttle sounds in the module. I do not have any throttle issues, and IMHO, I would like to keep the module as correct as possible.
Nealius Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 The throttle "click" when going into AB is totally drowned out by the sound of the engines. I only hear it when the engines are off.
Sadist_Cain Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 (edited) The throttle "click" when going into AB is totally drowned out by the sound of the engines. I only hear it when the engines are off. I listen for the sound of the engines going into afterburner and I find it's balanced quite nicely for around my X52's detent, however with the way they're made it's easy to see how another could perhaps not line up as well. Some other suggestions that may help mitigate the issue somewhat. Throttle curves, you can effectively tune the positionyour afterburner kicks in to somewhere around the detent that's better for you. To be more severe pop open the throttle on your X-52, if you haven't done this before don't be shy, look up some pictures about the throttle detent and you'll see it's incredibly simple to access and then make some bodges and tweaks to change the feel. This and a combination of adjusting the tension may help provide the feedback you require. I realise it ain't quite a button but I hope it helps for now. Edited March 23, 2019 by Sadist_Cain
Nealius Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 One of the issues I have with curves is that I either have a full range from IDLE to MIL and only half the AB range, or I have the full AB range but not enough IDLE to MIL range.
