GrEaSeLiTeNiN Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 I was getting red patches next to the 3 green dots in the TrackIR camera feedback display because I had bright windows in the daytime behind me. The head tracking would be erratic and unusable. So I could only use TrackIR in the evenings. Then I discovered that under the TrackIR camera settings, if I set the Light Filter Threshold to max, the red patches and erratic behaviour went away and tracking was back to normal. Now I can use TrackIR properly even with the bright windows behind me in the daytime. Just thought I'd share this in case it can help someone. _mu110_ Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 Thanks a lot for posting this, I have had similar problems when flying with my curtains open during the daytime, now it works perfectly no matter what the lighting conditions are. Check out my skins and mods on the User Files.

I haven't installed curtains in my new place, lol, hence the issue. Glad I chanced upon this fix. CBStu Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 Thanks for this. I have problems when wife is in kitchen w/ the ceiling can lights on. They are behind me and as she walks around Track IR goes nuts. She must block/unblock a reflection. I will try this trick.

Davee Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 If you have a lamp behind you that is in the soft white or 3,000 degrees Kelvin, it will project some Infra Red and affect the TIR sensors also.
GrEaSeLiTeNiN Posted March 25, 2019 Author Posted March 25, 2019 If the light source behind is very bright you might still get one or two red patches but it is otherwise an effective fix. For light from windows, it should eliminate most if not all of those red patches.
