[RESOLVED] Wrong position Jester wheel in 4K and scale gui on

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

After 2019-03-22 patch, Jester wheel shows small and in the corner of the screen, only with 4K resolution and "scale gui" option selected.

attachment.php?attachmentid=207209&d=1553425048

Because of this, the selection moving the head with trackir is difficult, since if we look directly to the wheel, the trackir is off center.

Please, a quick fix for this so we haven't to wait to next update? In the yesterday update not fixed.

Thanks.

Same issue is happened if I am use menu scaling in graphic settings, if I don't use menu scaling looks fine

But disabling GUI scale, the letters of radio menu are unreadable

Temporary fix,

edit file...

DCS World\Mods\aircraft\F14\Cockpit\Scripts\JesterAI\JesterAI_Page.lua

modify two lines:

scale = 1

grid_origin.init_pos = {0, 0, 0}

ONLY for 4K resolution

Thank you all for the reports. We want to support all possible display configurations, including 4k and multimonitor setups. We started using custom UI position and resolution when we corrected the menu position for multiscreen configurations. However, it appears that DCS returns lower UI resolution when the UI scaling option is set. We're looking for a solution that will correct the menu size and positioning for the 4k setups, but keep the same functionality for the multimonitor configurations. I will let you know when a fix enters internal tests.

to be honest, i like this position and size even better then the "original" Jester-wheel. This way you still have good sight in front of your plane. I got used to it, and have no difficulties selecting options there with TrackIR

Wait a minute... Scale GUI actually does something? I'm outright shocked... raritystunned.png

I've literally flooded the ED wishlist forums with the need for an option to scale the GUI, always referring to that tick mark box just being there for one white duck, 0^10 = nothing at all.

Yes it works, but it seems to work only for 4k resolution, in 2k i see no difference to fullhd GUI scale

In 2k, it even broke my 2 monitor setup and I couldn't click on the GUI items.

I use the text enlarger mod, so every thing is readable now.

I like also the position, but in a 32" monitor I have to look at the corner to see the wheel options, and then trackir is offset. I have to select wheel dial lookink at front :joystick:
