Yup! No adapter needed :-) Brake lever will act as a button, instead of an axis though (as with the Warthog).53cbef9ff601830714a5f89dfbfa0c2e.jpg

The brake lever will only work as a button when that grip is used on a Warthog base (similar with the Warthog grip).

Also, make sure you get either a MongoosT-50 grip (discontinued now), MongoosT-50 Black Edition RH grip (discontinued now), MongoosT-50CM grip (discontinued now) or any MongoosT-50 LH grip (if you want a left hand one).

The MongoosT-50CM2 grip has more buttons than the Warthog base can recognize. Not sure if it partially works (only some buttons) on a Warthog base or not.

But what's wrong with your Warthog grip? If that works, you should look into replacing the Warthog base first (with a WarBRD base or with a MongoosT-50 base or with a MongoosT-50CM base), not the Warthog grip.

I want to get the Flanker design from Virpil

So if The MongoosT-50CM2 grip has more buttons, then what is exactly the buttons will be unassigned?

19 buttons (+POV HAT) of ~27 buttons (+POV HAT) of T50 CM2 will work in Warthog base.

Theoretically in VirPil Configurator you can define what will be this 19 buttons, with the logical to physical buttons association.

For example following T50 (standard) buttons configuration - in red, except for left side of grip HAT, keep 5 way.

Then when you eventually decide or are forced replace Warthog base, and get a T50 or WarBRD base can use the extra buttons of CM2.

The biggest feature of VPC is the gimbal mechanism, far exceeds a Warthog gimbal.

Would the virpil configurator do anything for the warthog base ?

Thrustmaster uses the older method of dealing with layouts and button maps as a virtual device and requires the target profiles running in background.

So I guess the firmware on the gimbal is very basic.

I would be very surprised if you load up a virpil configuration to the warthog gimbal.

I think it's as simple as the first product virpil made was the mongoose grip that was designed to work on the warthog.

But I would consider it a lot more likely that someone would switch the gimbal rather than grip.

Cause frankly that warthog plastic cupholder is leaving a lot wanting in comparison.

And now that virpil has a second gen gimbal on its way as well as the warbrd.

They have no reason to maintain backwards compatibility with the warthog and it was a limiting factor on the mongoose grip I'm sure.
