ChicoMadera Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 1 275gal fuel tank and 2 aim-9's and it was clibing faster than ever. When i looked at the speed i couldn't believe it! Then all the sudden it went from mach 2.0 to 0.9 in less than 2 seconds. I've only been flying the F-5 for a few months but this had never happened!

I few time experienced similar behavior while diving from 30 000 feet to the ground. The speed gauge get frozen and everything is falsely reported. Turning on Pitot heat resolve this indeed.
