Alfa Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 so its not possible to import lock-on models to 3d max ? No you can export a *.max scene to *.lom format via ED's plug-in, but you cannot import it back into Max. JJ
Ares Posted August 19, 2007 Author Posted August 19, 2007 Oh ok I understand now. I was just asking because I wanted to modify the SU-34 into the SU-27KUB/UKB and modify the su-27 to a su-35 or su-37.
Yeniceri Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 Importin a .LOM file is possible.. there is a program called Zmodeler2. The 2.0.9 version (might be 2.9.0) imports .LOM files and exports them to 3ds.. have a nice day.. Alfa Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Importin a .LOM file is possible.. there is a program called Zmodeler2. The 2.0.9 version (might be 2.9.0) imports .LOM files... ...allowing you to view them yes, but... ....and exports them to 3ds.. No it doesn't :) . http://www.zmodeler2.com/ Front page - scrooll down two paragraphs: LockOn: Hot Riffs import-only filter have been released. The game is aimed for modern air combat and have pretty high-detailed and accurate models. Since, there is lots of animatebale parts and other game-specific features in files, export in this format is not available. - JJ. JJ
sp0nge Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Yeah Zmodeler2 was tested on the Walmis F-15 but it didn't work. Which blows coz that model was so close to finishing. Is breaking the laws of gravity illegal? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
SuperKungFu Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 yea its a shame the zmodler thing didn't work out. And that was the only program (to my knowledge) out there than did this sort of converting from .lom to .3ds. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
sp0nge Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Is .LOM specific to Lock On? Is breaking the laws of gravity illegal? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
SuperKungFu Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 no i believe there are other games that uses .lom. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Yeniceri Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Ehm.. as far as i know LOM is abv. of Lockon Model So i say "Yes".. It is specific to lock-on.. But as i proved wrong above thread.. i might be wrong again :) [sIGPIC]http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa200/misikci/41-imza-1.jpg[/sIGPIC] "To infinity...and beyond!.." SIM-MOD Modeler TURK!
sp0nge Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Yeahh i thought it was Lock On Model as well. If other games use it, then sure, maybe it isn't specific, but hey, sure seems like it is. I mean, Lock on Model - LOM.. Even when you export out of 3ds it says Lock On Model (*.LOM). Maybe thats the reason Zmodeler2 didn't work.. Maybe THIS .LOM is specific to Lock On and Zmodeler2 supports another .LOM type. Is breaking the laws of gravity illegal? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Troffmeister Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 if you go to the zmodeler forums , you can talk with the zmodeller programmer guy - if you talk with him , it is possible he could investigate and solve the lom to 3ds export issue - i think from reading there , he likes a challenge ) anyway lom is the LO 3d file format there is a LO thred over at that forum , so start / revive that and see what happens )
