Captain Orso Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 W-w-what? There's an auto-convert? I've only been entering DD° HH' MM" - ONLY. shagrat Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 You sir, should really start reading the real world NATOPS manual, before commenting on anything else concerning the AV-8B Harrier II, or at least try to change your attitude. There is a very, very good reason the AV-8B module is still labeled as Beta and considered "early access", as lots of systems are not finished yet, or currently placeholders until other related or required systems are implemented. Just because you can manage to use the current state successfully does not remotely mean it is finished. Especially with the AV-8B we have the whole set of NATOPS documents available, from the Flight manual giving us detailed information about the avionics, display modes and systems, to the TAC manual depicting ARBS operation, AUTO mode, LOFT submodes and additional systems and options for all weapon delivery... from the same documents the Marine corps pilots learned the aircraft. So please, either read the NATOPS manuals yourself to understand the realistic options the plane offers, or stop raising virtual eyebrows if people who did read the manuals try to discuss discrepancies and missing features. Thank you in advance. :)W-w-what? There's an auto-convert? I've only been entering DD° HH' MM" - ONLY. Captain Orso Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 I think I'm the last person to claim -- or expect -- the AV-8B to be complete. I know it's EA, and what that means. I didn't realize that the waypoints displayed in the MPCD are in DD° HH.hhh', because I'd never tried to read them, and because you have to enter them in DD° HH' MM" when adding a waypoint during a mission, which in my mind is kind of weird, considering that 1 second longitude equals about a mile in the real world (in latitude, it depends on what longitude you are at), so the numbers input for a waypoint cannot allow for a terribly accurate waypoint position; at least compared to the accuracy of modern nav equipment like GPS. That being said, I'm in no way claiming that this is wrongly represented in the module, just that it's different than I expected and was aware of. Also considering that in-mission I'm often given DD° HH.hhh', which I need to use to add a waypoint. I have to recalculate the decimal-hours, into minutes to input them, and then they end up displayed in decimal-hours  *pssst* I haven't searched for it in the NATOPS, but maybe there's a setting for inputting in HH.hhh', but I don't know... yet. Further, if you think that because it's in the NATOPS it is necessarily in the RAZBAM module, you are mistaken. I've already found a major discrepancy between the NATOPS and RAZBAM, and posted it; not a function not yet implemented, but one wrongly implemented. Zarma Posted April 4, 2019 Author Posted April 4, 2019 Shagrat dont be so agressive to Captain Orso, I really dont understand why you over-react that way? As you said, the Harrier is sill in beta (not EA) and maybe Razbam could focus on finishing the released modules instead of starting three new ones. Mirage is officially out of beta but still have bugs and unfinished systems. I know they are doing updates for the Harrier, but only small things instead of focusing on finishing a plane we paid for. And again, dont claim it's early access. It has been since november 2017 ! This year, in three month, a few bugs corrected, no major addition to the systems. i9 9900k, 64 Go RAM, RTX 4090, Warthog HOTAS Throttle & Stick, Virpil AH64 collective, TPR rudder, MFD Cougar, Trackir 5 Pro, Multipurpose UFC, Alain Dufour's TEDAC and Oculus Rift S (when I want some VR), http://www.twitch.tv/zarma4074 / https://www.youtube.com/user/Zarma4074
shagrat Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 (edited) Sorry, that was maybe a bit harsh, but this was the second post yesterday I saw from him that seemingly had the attitude "it's a feature not a bug". It is difficult for people to discuss issues and discrepancies they find in comparison to the real world menu if immediately someone chimes in and claims it is "working ok". That was the first "issue": https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=237953 Shagrat dont be so agressive to Captain Orso, I really dont understand why you over-react that way? shagrat Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Again sorry. I have no problem with Razbam, by any means. I just see this kind of "not a problem for me" and I find especially that comment on the CCIP to AUTO conversion, in the ASL bug thread, totally counterproductive and discouraging bug reports and feedback. That is why I had to say something. Sorry again if this was a bit over the top on my side. I think I'm the last person to claim -- or expect -- the AV-8B to be complete. Captain Orso Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Ahhh... don't worry about it. As I said, I was on the grumpy side as well. I get so tired of lazy postsers, and the constant begging/trashing of RAZBAM for what looks to me like people expecting their opinion or personal wishes to be RAZBAM's rule for further development of projects. I'm certainly not a fan-boy -- not for any organization I know of. RAZBAM has made their mistakes, and some big ones at that. But I've also seen them actually grow in the months since I've owned the Harrier, and that is something you don't see every day. When you hit the wrong button on take-off System Specs. Predator-78 Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 After the update I can't start the alignment on the ground. some1 Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Yeah, for whatever reason, the UFC is locked in ground align, can't select anything. A workaround is to type the required coordinates before switching the alignment. One step forward, one step back.
