Raisuli Posted April 8, 2019 Posted April 8, 2019 My Crosswind pedals arrived today from Trilj; spent most of a week in Split two years ago, I should have picked them up while I was there! Absolutely beautiful work! Got one minor project that needs to get finished before I can fully unbox, mount, and set-up (taxes...sigh), but I'm really, really looking forward to taking them out for a spin. If I have a problem I'm going direct to the manufacturer. Croatia is one of my three favorite countries in Europe, and I'd hate to have to rank them from there.

BTW, Split is beautiful but the islands are just f**** awesome.... From Croatia with love :smilewink:
Raisuli Posted April 9, 2019 Author Posted April 9, 2019 (edited) Glad you like them. BTW, Split is beautiful but the islands are just f**** awesome.... From Croatia with love :smilewink: Getting the base made; first coat of primer went on last night, hope to have the top and edges painted tonight, because we're getting snow and cold the rest of the week. Flew to Dubrovnik (day trip to Montenegro), bus to Split (ferry to Hvar for a day), train to Zagreb (then Plitvice and Samobor, both day trips), train to Ljubljana, then a plane home. Oh. My. Gosh. Give me an excuse to go back! (Cam 5 has a blemish...I need to and have a chat with the guy who made it...really!) Edited April 9, 2019 by Raisuli
Raisuli Posted April 10, 2019 Author Posted April 10, 2019 Ran into a problem; haven't figured out how I'm going to solve it... ...my office has a hardwood floor, and a guy named Newton (among others) is causing problems...this wasn't really a problem with my CH pedals. I can't find the radio command for "Chief, set the chair chocks!"
FragBum Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 There is a soft liner material which improves the grip on surfaces like floors etc might help for you. This is what I use for the very same reason. Control is an illusion which usually shatters at the least expected moment. Gazelle Mini-gun version is endorphins with rotors. See above. Currently rolling with a Asus Z390 Prime, 9600K, 32GB RAM, SSD, 2080Ti and Windows 10Pro, Rift CV1. bu0836x and Scratch Built Pedals, Collective and Cyclic.

Something that will give the wheels rolling friction.

Bob_Bushman Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 I just screwed some cat eye hooks into my hotas mounts. (2×4" diy mounts) Tied two locking hooks to my armrest by cutting the rope for an outboard motor starter, seriously that was 1/10 that price of regular ripe for some reason. No more sliding and the whole affair took about 8 minutes. i7 8700k @ 4.7, 32GB 2900Mhz, 1080ti, CV1 Virpil MT-50\Delta, MFG Crosswind, Warthog Throttle, Virptil Mongoost-50 throttle.
Fusedspine33 Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 I wish a game chair manufacturer would make an offering for flight sims. Seat bottom adjustment (back down front up) Middle cutout for the stick, and narrow back to allow arms to reach switches next to you. I bought a dedicated seat after looking at trade show demo videos and found that you can’t reach anything closer to you than mid thigh and the lack of seat adjustment very uncomfortable. Chairs on wheels are an invitation to disaster for me.
Fusedspine33 Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Second observation, beautiful towns and cities next to spectacular waters that have lived in harmony for hundreds of years. In America it seems we would turn it into brownish green sludge you can’t swim or fish in. Sigh

Chairs on wheels are an invitation to disaster for me. I HEAR THIS! In the short term my simpit is also my desk, which is an ergonomic disaster. The new revision of flight controls are modular, though, and designed to go into a dedicated cockpit, but that's going to wait until I actually retire. These crosswind pedals are absolutely amazing, though. If flying is a big deal and you want top-o-the-line they're more than worth the cost of admission...especially if you fly anything with rotating airfoils. My only suggestion is to offer a mounting plate as an option for people who don't have wood shops in their basement. Heck, it could be made as a two-part assembly to fit in the existing packaging. Tongue and grove, make something like Kreg pocket screws to put it together. It really needs a more stable platform.
