Black screen during start up of DCS World

Hi all, I'm getting a black screen during start-up of a fresh install of DCS World. I can't get past the opening DCS page. It will show the DCS logo for about 30 seconds and then go black. I've even let it sit for about five minutes, and it's still black I purchased the F-14 about two weeks ago and then did a clean install as I was directed to do to use it. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it. Below are the before and after screenshots.

Thank in advance for you advice and help,

Where do i find the log file?

It's at Saved Games/DCS.openbeta/Logs ... zip it before uploading.

Now it works :)

Your log file shows that an error on a lua file is preventing the game GUI (user interface) from starting and then the game shutdowns:

2019-04-11 20:01:15.961 ERROR   Lua::Config: Lua error [string "./MissionEditor/modules/TableUtils.lua"]:3: assertion failed! in "Scripts/autoexec.lua"
2019-04-11 20:01:15.984 ALERT Dispatcher: Error starting Game GUI: [string "./MissionEditor/modules/TableUtils.lua"]:3: assertion failed!

Try to perform a DCS repair, using skatezilla utility: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160053

Also can be done opening a command prompt in admin mode and then running:

"/program files/eagle dynamics/DCS/bin/dcs_updater repair"

Rudel, I didn't zip mine before inserting...is this ok

edited: By looking at spiff80's zip...I see why you wanted it zipped...do you want me to zip and insert.

It's so strange, you have the exact same error as Spiff80 .. perhaps you are both running a user Mod?

Try to do the repair that I suggested on the previous message, it will check all the files of your DCS install (but not those at saved games) and re-download any that is found corrupt.

That didn't work so I deleted everything and going to do a fresh install to see if that works...very strange, I was able to use DCS until I did the last fresh install after I purchased the F-14. I got a message that said that to use it I would need to do a fresh install so I was following directions.

If the dcs.updater repair didnt fix it, then its unlikely that a fresh install would fix this problema, I would have suggested to first rename /saved games/dcs.openbeta/ to openbeta.bak in order to let DCS rebuild its saved games folder, as sometimes the config that you have there may be at fault.

It didnt help with the repair tool either, still black screen.

DCS has two main places on your PC: One is the program itself, stored at /Program Files/Eagle Dynamics/ ... the repair tool only check this location.

The other place is at /Saved Games/ ... there you will find a DCS or DCS.openbeta folder, where DCS stores the User's configuration, Misssions, screenshots, etc.

Since your problem persists, even after the repair, you should now check if it's cause is at /saved games/ ... for that, just rename (using windows file explorer) the folder DCS or DCS.openbeta, into for example DCS.bak or DCS.openbeta.bak .. this will preserve its current contents, as we are not deleting it.

Now start DCS, the sim will recreate the configuration folder at /Saved Games/ and start. If it now starts OK, then you will know that the problem was caused by something within your previous config folder.

Thereafter, you can recover items from your prior location, like the Hotas settings, your Logbook, user missions, etc.
