Airhunter Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Whenever I power up to full mil on a shore takeoff Jester yells at me something like "Ah man, you're too fast". What is he refering to? Really can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
cromhunt Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 (edited) it's because you take off on a beach(shore), he does not have time to see the naked girls:) more seriously what is your speed at take off wheels? If you go too fast before pulling on the stick you risk the bursting of the tires, as on migs 21 or 29 Edited April 13, 2019 by cromhunt
Airhunter Posted April 13, 2019 Author Posted April 13, 2019 I start rotating at about 130-145 knots indicated but regardless, his call comes way before that when setting power.
Eldur Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 He tends to say that to me when landing and just using the spoiler BK and full back stick with DLC off to brake... nevertheless like this the Tomcat slows down much better than a Hornet with full wheel brakes on.
Sergeant_Hamlet Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Make sure you're on the correct runway. If you're not on the runway that the ATC gives you, Jester thinks you're still taxiing.

Eldur Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Explains a lot... well, DCS ATC is pretty restricted regarding that, they've got just one general direction for each base... I usually land on Al Dhafra from the sea side, on the right one. And I take off on the right one as well, but in the other direction. That's what I generally do since ages, back in times we had no ATC in sims. Always take the right one, taxi around turning to the left.
