I tried to search but got no hits for why Germany Cold War terrain does not install on my standalone DCS server. I tried the to run this line to manually install the terrain but it did not work.

"D:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World Server\bin\DCS_updater.exe" install germanycoldwar_terrain

At line:1 char:72
+ ... \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World Server\bin\DCS_updater.exe" install germany ...

GERMANYCW_terrain is the name.  It is case sensitive.

\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World Server\bin>DCS_updater.exe install GERMANYCW_terrain

For the record, this is the command for the new Marianas WWII terrain on the dedicated server.

\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World Server\bin>DCS_updater.exe install MARIANAISLANDSWWII_terrain

How are we doing with the MT version of the dedicated server? Is there a timeframe for this, is it actually being worked on still?

With the price of ammunition these days do not expect a warning shot.

The dedicated server is already multi-threaded and has been for a while:

Reported here two months ago including an analysis of the error:

This is not a solution to the problem. The developers themselves should fix it.

Yes, indeed a bug report is not a solution. My intention behind the former was to get the developers to do the latter. I went the extra mile by analyzing the issue and providing additional details, i.e., the actual cause of the bug, to facilitate fixing it for the devs. The lack of quick fixes to such basic bugs makes me think the devs are quite busy and don't have the time to investigate such non-critical issues.

P.S.: Thank your for the extra effort (use of crayons) to really drive that message home 😉

You perfectly understand that this isn't bread for them. Right now, it's important to churn out modules from update to update. Fixing anything is no longer as important because it's long been not a priority for them and brings no profit.

So, you're saying ED has a faulty business model, which is leading them to prioritize putting out more and more modules to be sold, while allowing core parts of the basis to become decrepit through a lack of care.

I don't see where I can attack that view.
