Shmal Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 AIM-9 heat seaker is locking the signataure of MiG-21 from back while afterburner turned off! But can't do that when afterburner is turn on! Range is 2.5 km and fewer! AIM-9P almost not able to lock the 21th with afterburner! AIM-9P5 feels better because its more sensitive! Frederf Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 The MiG-21bis is modeled as having two engines or something like that to handle military and augmented. You can see the RPM go from 100% to -100% when it is engaged. When flying the MiG-21bis the mission log is full of "engine shutdown" and "engine started" events just by going in and out of burner.

Should be reported in the MiG-21 subforum and the Leatherneck public bug tracker.
