JDAM coords

Hi everyone,

 

 

i have a "maybe stupid question": suppose to have in f10 map all fog of war so i cannot detect exact coord of my objective, i haven't informations about that.

 

is there a method to fly-over a point and detect exact coords for JDAM PP MODE, insert and release bombs?

What you're describing sounds like overfly markpoint creation. I don't know if he real Hornet has it, but as far as I know, we don't have that capability yet. In any event, you'd probably need to refine the coordinates after the overfly.

 

On that note, I also dislike using the F10 map, it kills realism for me. I note the target coordinates in the ME before I start and add them to the briefing.

PP mode is pre-planned - when coordinates are known.

 

Targeting with TGP or via HUD diamond will be implemented later as well.

Agree 100%, thats how I do it too. Doing it before jumping into the cockpit is also what PP actually means, right?:smilewink:

Yes, its not very realistic if you are looking in F10, and its too easy. I use kneeboard with TGT`s coord`s that i`ve created before. Its more realistic and fun.

I use the Scratchpad to put my coordinates on before flight.

Maybe a poor man's method is to use the HUD target mode. I sometimes use it if another human is giving a visual talkon for a buddy lase. Although without a TGP it's not good enough for just your own targeting.
