ZBoT Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 So I was on mission 8. I got a new computer and tried moving over my DCS profile and it got deleted. :-( I have a backup but I only have mission 1 completed in that backup. Anyway to get back to mission 8? Or will skipping mess up the campaign? Otherwise I'll just play through them again. Thanks! ZBoT Posted May 14, 2019 Author Posted May 14, 2019 Another question. Is the campaign "dynamic"? What I mean is, if I skip to mission 8, will it be the same as where I was before? Or is my performance on the first 7 missions "rated" and changes each mission progressively some how? GTFreeFlyer Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 It is not dynamic. I don’t believe DCS has this capability. Depending on your mission outcome, you’ll get a different brief at the end of each mission, but it will not affect the next mission. This is AFAIK, but anyone can correct me if I’m wrong. It's true for this campaign, however it is very much possible to branch campaigns based on the outcome of missions. Missions have a "result", and this result is usually used to decide whether or not a campaign should progress to the next mission. AFAIK the result can range from 0 to 100, and in theory that means that, based on mission result, 100 different missions could be waiting in the next stage. Typically, though, campaign designers use a result below 50 to mean "replay this mission" and everything above means "advance to next mission". An earlier version of TEW did branch at some point, but Baltic Dragon decided that all players should get to play all missions regardless of outcome, so in the current version, if a player were to set the logbook to, say, mission 8, then that mission 8 would be exactly the same no matter how a player got there.

baltic_dragon Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 As others say - if you have done other missions and now jump to 8, you won’t loose anything. Good hunting and let me know your thoughts after you finish! For more information, please visit my website. Good hunting and let me know your thoughts after you finish! Thanks Baltic!! Always appreciate your support. Can't wait to get this all sorted out and back to flying. Now I just need to beat that 8th mission. This will be my 5th attempt so hopefully I get it soon. :-) Either way it's a blast!!
