Razi Posted May 19, 2019 Posted May 19, 2019 (edited) Is it possible to set comm 1 ch 1 to anything other than the flight's frequency? Currently, changing comm 1, ch 1 also changes the flights frequency it seems (in the mission editor). As a result, it doesn't seem possible to set comm 1, ch 1 to anything other than the flight. I'm hoping to be able to set it to tower/Paddles. Edited May 19, 2019 by Razi Added clarity
Harker Posted May 19, 2019 Posted May 19, 2019 Changing the frequency also changes the flight's frequency mid-mission? That's actually more of a benefit than a problem, in my opinion, since you can "command the flight to change to X frequency" for mission reasons. Why don't you use any other channel for paddles? Razi Posted May 19, 2019 Author Posted May 19, 2019 (edited) I don't think it changes mid-mission. But I definitely wasn't clear, I'll edit the original post. I meant in the mission editor. Currently I use comm 1 basically for flight only and comm 2 for everything else. I've understood that in real life it is usually the other way around and comm 1 ch 1 is usually the tower/paddles. Not a huge deal, but would be fun to have DCS setup this way if possible. Edited May 19, 2019 by Razi
Sierra99 Posted May 19, 2019 Posted May 19, 2019 If I understand the question, Yes and no...I > THINK < Your wingman is always on your frequency. But if you set 3 different flights to 264.000 in the mission editor and then change your comm 1 inflight...the only people you'll hear is YOUR flight. ApacheDoctor Posted May 19, 2019 Posted May 19, 2019 Personally, Id recommend setting your Primaries to outside entities (tanker, AWACS, air traffic control, tower, paddles, GCI, etc) and your Aux (Comm 2-to your specific inflight frequencies as well as your other flight frequencies) and have a reference card for them all.
Sedlo Posted May 20, 2019 Posted May 20, 2019 You could put a switched condition for your flight to “set frequency for unit”, select your wingman, and then type the frequency you want them on. Set that to go off at mission start plus one second. Then tune your right side radio to whatever frequency you set your wingman to be on and you’re good to go. My Youtube Channel MY DCS MISSIONS

'Tis what I'm hoping to accomplish, if possible in DCS. Thanks Seldo, I'll try that out. I also wonder if the mission card feature in the works will sort this out.

At least I can do that, thanks!
