How to attach the same file to different threads?

When I try to attach the same file to different threads, I just get a 'you already have an attachment by that name uploaded', or something like that!

How to get round this issue?

Seems crazy. How do we 'manage' our uploaded files? I mean I can see the list, but can't see how to do anything with it!

You open for example the picture in the list and copy the url in the "insert image" button(new post, upper menu), never tried it with other file types("insert link").

Right, thanks a lot. Didn’t realise I could get a link if I clicked on the attachment in the list in User CP.

But, will that work for zip files?

You can right click on the zip file in that list and copy the url to paste it in your new post, if you click it you will download the file. Thats the only way i know.

Thanks for that. I can only seem to get it to show up as a forum link, not as an attachment.

There is no option like that. If you already uploaded the file into another post just paste a link to it.

Or do you mean you can't find the attachment's link?

Thanks guys, but frankly, it seems crazy that we can't attach the same file n 2 threads. It means that we have to slightly rename the file and upload again, making space on the servers be wasted.

We have what we have, so please, don't do that. Just post a link and move on. There is no advantage in uploading another and the same attachment just to have it visible in another post.
