grafspee
i've seen that A8 on trailer is flywing with central bombholder, My question is, is it will be married to plane permanetly or we can drop it off System specs: I7 14700KF, Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite, 64GB DDR4 3600MHz, Gigabyte RTX 4090,Win 11, 48" OLED LG TV + 42" LG LED monitor
JG13Wulf
Asked it first day : no answer ^^ Normally, on real Fw 190 you could remove it on the ground but can't drop it. So I hope there will be the possibility in the RR menu to get "pylon off" option. :p
Marduk879
The central bombrack was installed on the A-8 permanently because it was a solution for a problem with the planes center of gravity.
JG13Wulf
All Fw 190A had a removable ETC 501 bomb rack. It was attach to the plane but you could remove it on the ground (but not drop it). As the A8 had just more armor and a more powerfull engine, I don't understand what the ETC 501 would fix with the center of gravity. As there is information about test on Fw 190 A8 with and without it, I'm not sure this is correct. Could you give more information about that ? saburo_cz
I don't understand what the ETC 501 would fix with the center of gravity. Additional (3rd) fuel tank which was installed behind cockpit, that was the reason why ETC was moved 200mm forward and why was permanent... JG13Wulf
Ok, I could find some information that it was placed forward. But still nothing about the fact it was permanent. I found some information that there was aerodynamic kit that can be added as some plane keep the rack even if it was unused (because it take time to put it on and off the plane). So there are planes with a permanent rack because they had to fly fighter and Jabo missions. But still nothing about the fact all A8 had it permanently. Marduk879
Translation from my czech source: On A-8 additional fuselage fuel tank was installed behind the pilot which caused the center of gravity to move back again. This was countered by moving the ETC 501 bombrack 20cm forward. From this source i believe we can state that removing the ETC 501 bombrack wasnt recommended as it would cause problems with center of gravity which posses serious danger to piloting the plane. Thus the ETC 501 bombrack was never removed on most of the planes be it JABOs or fighters. Ofcourse this doesnt mean the bombrack couldnt be removed, just means most of the crews never did it. Im sorry if i got you confused by stating it was permanent. Also Saburo_cz was faster! Thanks man :) Edited May 31, 2019 by Marduk879

Then you'll find the 3rd tank mentioned there too Otherwise, go to page 16 of the same document. That tank is also listed in the fuel system part of that document. amazingme
Same document, page 16, 3 tanks. Page 6 of the document (page 11 of the PDF) shows no tanks. Edit: If you go to the fuel system part you'll see: Fwd tank, aft tank, drop tank, auxiliary tank. 3 of them in the fuselage. That's for NOS/fuel.. amazingme
We already have it. I know.. but where's the NOS? And secondly, if we don't fill it with fuel shouldn't we be able to remove the ETC501??
