centermass Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Your body counters shaking. So shaking of the body should not be modeled but the buffeting / shaking of the aircraft should be modeled.
Capt_Crunch Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Well Look here. Are we going to have this ability for the next release ? Hey Gozr, could you please say where that SU-27 model is available from. What is the flight model like in comparison to Lockon? Especially stalls. Thanks Proud member of the 169th Panther Squadron http://www.169thpanthers.com
The_GOZR Posted October 3, 2007 Author Posted October 3, 2007 Well Capt All FM of jet planes fighters in Lomac are well humm humm.. well not so good ;) I changed the Su's FM in FSX witch is way more flyable..
Capt_Crunch Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 But where did you get the plane itself. free download?, payed download? Where can can I buy it? Thanks again Proud member of the 169th Panther Squadron http://www.169thpanthers.com
The_GOZR Posted October 3, 2007 Author Posted October 3, 2007 here it goes i forgot hehehe AlphaSim Sukhoi Flanker http://www.simflight.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=7491 They did a small video there: http://www.bbq-videos.com/alphasim/flankers.zip
Capt_Crunch Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 here it goes i forgot hehehe AlphaSim Sukhoi Flanker http://www.simflight.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=7491 They did a small video there: http://www.bbq-videos.com/alphasim/flankers.zip Thanks again Gozr!! That is a great video!!! It seems every new reply you give I have a new question  In your very first thread you mention SU-27 for FSX but the Alphasim site says their release is for FS2004 only. Did you modify it for use in FSX or does it run in FSX without modification? Proud member of the 169th Panther Squadron http://www.169thpanthers.com
The_GOZR Posted October 3, 2007 Author Posted October 3, 2007 Something like this would be great: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=z60C4dSULuA Because right lomac is the worse of ALL sim for that matter they must do something it's a must it's a necessity..
The_GOZR Posted October 3, 2007 Author Posted October 3, 2007 Yes i did it for FSX on mine. I can't remember very well right now have so many.. and fixed so many. It run no problem on FSX install it in the right folder if you know your way around (?)
7rooper Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 I've read all these 4 pages of comments and I can say that your begs are fair enough. We do need a more realistic head/camera movement in cockpit-not a camera jittering or that useless natural head movement- but in order to be achieved a full 3d cockpit must be done first. It doesn't have why to be so detailed as the KA50 pit but at least it must have its separated panels and, this is key, a full 3D hud...well if the pilot's legs could be also 3D would be even more awesome. Having this true 3D cockpit some more realistic shading and lightning effects can be seen, it isnt even necessary to tweak anything since the default environment lighting would do the job. Just imagine what we could get to see in a moderately detailed cockpit!!. I once made, in 3DSMAX, a 3D cockpit for a MiG21, put a camera inside and rendered a cool 25 seconds dogfight video, it's a shame that I dont have the file any longer-might have been useful for starting a new project- 'cause it went away along with the thief that stole my PC :( Of course the making of the flyable planes cockpits is a huge work and we wouldnt even have the certainity if we could get to explore it from our game since the 6DFO option/compatibility is a, while not difficult, professional task which is up to ED PS. Why didnt the guy who compare the simulators use the mirrors in cockpit when flying the flaker in LO? Just to make LO look even worse. Capt_Crunch Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Instead of Blackshark I would have preferred if ED worked on full 6DOF pits, and Advanced Flight Models (like the Su-25T), for all aircraft, as well as missile realism adjustments. I would have payed for that easy. Just my opinion, I'm thankful for Lomac as it is! Proud member of the 169th Panther Squadron http://www.169thpanthers.com
7rooper Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 So am I and the best part it's that LO is going to keep looking and feeling better everyday. btw, is it possible if somebody give LO's engine an DX10 update? ...I guess I'm asking too much... My rig specs: Intel Core i7 4770 @3.4Ghz // Corsair 16GB DDR3 // MoBo Asus Z87K // HDD 1TB 7200RPM // eVGA Nvidia GTX 760GT 2GB DDR5 // LG 3D 47" 1920x1080 // Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS // Saitek Combat Pro Pedals // Thrustmaster MFD Cougar pack // PS3 Eye + FTNOIR
SuperKungFu Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 lol yea pretty much. I don't even think LO is dx9, it might be dx8. Can anyone confirm that? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Capt_Crunch Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 lol yea pretty much. I don't even think LO is dx9, it might be dx8. Can anyone confirm that? The "Teamspeak Overlay" program I use reports Directx 8. Proud member of the 169th Panther Squadron http://www.169thpanthers.com
Blacknemisis Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Hey GOZR does those Flankers work with FSX or just FS2004?
Blacknemisis Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Hey Capt Crunch lol! If you figure out how to get those flankers to work in FSX pls let me know how.
Capt_Crunch Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Hey Capt Crunch lol! If you figure out how to get those flankers to work in FSX pls let me know how. Well it seems Gozr had some luck but with out definite instructions I'm hesitant to buy the product and possibly find out that there will be issues with FSX. I'll wait until they release a certified for FSX version. Cheers. Proud member of the 169th Panther Squadron http://www.169thpanthers.com
7rooper Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 LO is DX 8 since it takes advantage of Pixel shaders 1.1 to show off those ripples on the sea and those scratches on the cockpit glass via bump reflections maps. You can even get get its maximun eye candy with the lowest and oldest DX8 compliant vcard (Geforce3, Radeon 8500). Nevertheless an DX 9-10 update is possible it's just that I dont think an amateur coder or programmer from this community can do that. It's true hardwork! In our hands what I see most possible to achieve would be a better skybox, textures improvementes, new sprites -smoke is cool the way it is-, more detailed static models (bridges and buildings). better lightning and environment (HDR, FOG) effects would necessarily require an DX API upgrade. Well.. I'm not sure about this..but isnt it possible to make bump mapped skins for the planes? That would add great detail to those rivets, seams and bolts typically found in a plane body. S77th-GOYA Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 I'd like to see realistic shadows in the pit. Like this: Speak of the devil: http://blogs.msdn.com/sebby1234/archive/2007/10/08/fsx-dx10-self-shadowing-vcs.aspx
Capt_Crunch Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 Hey Capt Crunch lol! If you figure out how to get those flankers to work in FSX pls let me know how. Ok, it's not too bad to get it to work. Copy the 3 folders in the zip file to the proper FSX directory, Aircraft to \SimObjects\Airplanes, Gauges to Gauges, and Effects to Effects. Then open the "panel.cfg " file under the SimObjects\Airplanes folder with Notepad and change the entry that says "SIZE_Y=3899" to "SIZE_Y=6143". There is actually 2 files called panel.cfg, I edited both. I like the addon overall but the speeds obtained are unrealistic, (might be due to the fact that it was designed for FS2004) and the Virtual Pit is not as professional as the planes that come with FSX or Lockon for that matter. There is no glass in the Pit in FSX currently. Cheers Proud member of the 169th Panther Squadron http://www.169thpanthers.com
