Mr_Burns
I was wondering, are there any hardened targets in DCS that require either certain size bombs or delay fuse 1 and 2? I put an aircraft in a hangar and the mk82 on instant just went through it. You can blow bridges up with rockets. Any ideas?
Exorcet
Right now DCS damage modeling is health pools only. Any weapon can damage anything, but some objects have so much HP that they take very long to kill with low damage weapons. You can probably script more intelligent armor into a mission through LUA, but I haven't done it and don't know precisely how you would code it. I imagine it would involve checking for certain bombs near the object. If the bombs are the wrong type, either delete them or make the object they're falling toward immortal. If the bombs are the right type, then let them hit. bolek
I was wondering, are there any hardened targets in DCS that require either certain size bombs or delay fuse 1 and 2? Try Static Object->Russia->Warehouses->Ammunition depot in the Mission Editor. This used to be so hard to kill that only AI F-15E Strike Eagle with GBU-31V3B could do it (not even regular GBU-31 on the A-10C) :). But maybe things changed since then... Maybe Hornet can kill it? Tholozor
Both the Hornet and the Hog can carry the GBU-31(V)3/B. The regular GBU-31/Mk-84 can destroy the ammunition depot as well; a single hit will cause it to catch fire and eventually burn down, but two will destroy it much faster. A single (V)3/B is still the best option. Generally 1000lbs and up (though the bigger Mavericks, and Kh-29T can kill it too). 500lb bombs don't do anything (even if you drop multiples). I thought it just used a large HP pool.
