I think all the big SAM's need to stop to fire. Some of the radar units have a setup time listed in the Encyclopedia. It ranges from minutes to days.

Awaiting: DCS F-15C

I read and doesn't say but was curious if the S/R radar was down, and traveling they would be dormant I would think. and the launches are turned back as well.

They will definitely need to be static and deployed

Can SA6 or SA11's Fire if they are in a convoy travelling??
In DCS? I don't think it can. The only SAM in real life that can do that is newest modern Tor (SA-15). You can search the video on Youtube.

The SA-15 was designed in the mid seventies. By that standard, at the age of 39 I am also still young and modern. Thank you for the little moral boost

The SA-6 and SA-11 stop to shoot at a target if they happen to be moving. Both of their main radars probably shouldn't be deployed and active as they move but in game it can happen. Buk has an optical sensor on the launcher that allows it to independently find and track targets though.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.

No need to apologize, all is good. Just found the thought of still being new and modern very compelling and had some fun.:)

Many SAM systems can do that (Avenger, Linebacker, Roland, Strela, Pantsir?, ...).

Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit

DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
