Hi. I just wanted to verify something... If I buy the Hornet module, it comes with an aircraft carrier, and that will be usable in the Caucasus map?

I have the Persian Gulf map, too, but I get microstutters on it, so I'd ideally be using the Caucus map... if that's possible with the carrier.

Is the carrier present in Quick Missions, or just full/proper missions?

The current carrier is FREE and included in the base game, this is the USS John C Stennis. It can be used on the Caucasus map just fine. I cant say which quick missions have carrier, but I'm sure some of them do.

Be aware of an upcoming Carrier DLC, this will be the USS Nimitz and will be PAID, but the free carrier will remain in some form or another.

In addition to the above, ED has said that the paid carrier module is going to be cheaper for owners of the F/A-18C module.

Thanks, guys.

I wonder how you'd have the carrier in the Caucasus map in a Quick Mission. Does the carrier appear as an airport starting position option on the startup map? So far, there doesn't seem to be an option, so I'm not sure if you need to specify it some other way?

I know you'd be able to make regular (hand created) missions with it, just as any other item in the map editor library... but how do you specify it when using the Quick Mission generator?

I've never done quick missions, but here's a mission attached I used to use for carrier practice.

The carrier is placed just like another unit, it's under Ships -> CVN-74 John C. Stennis, available to the USA. After you put it down, you can set up waypoints and actions normally and it'll go about its business. And you can indeed treat is as a floating airport.

So I guess I was right, it's not available in the Quick Mission generator.

I was hoping I could use it to create a quick, random mission (like you do with the Quick Mission system), but with a carrier takeoff/landing.

If I make my own mission in the Mission Editor, I'll know what enemies to expect, and where (...aside from utilizing some sort of random spawn radius for each of the enemy units).

You can edit a generated mission and change your starting point. Just set it to start from runway to easily see the player aircraft.

Generate a quick mission and then edit it before you fly. Add the carrier and change your flight to take off or land there and you're done

Which carrier exactly will be the paid carrier module? The "Nimitz" class aircraft carriers are more than 10 carriers...
