I'm looking to make use of the 4 Throttle Rotaries...presumably for axis commands.

Any suggestions?

edit: I should add I'm referring to the X-56

Thank you.

I use the one at button F (Top) to extend/retract speed brake since it has a center detent. The one at button G (Bottom) to extend/retract fuel probe. Rty 3 I have set up for the HMD knob, and Rty 4 for the HUD brightness knob.

The 2 position SLD I use for speed brake with the help of an advanced command.

You can make them into bands as well...

Depends on the module. Common to all is Zoom, for war birds elevator and aileron trim is a good one, rudder trim for modern jets. Radar antenna elevation is another good one to have mapped.

Do you leave the F rotor in extend position until you turn it to retract?

Or do you wait till it's fully extended and then go to the detent 0 position?

Basically the latter of your question, I will turn clockwise til it deploys where I want it (whether full extend or not), and then immediately return to 0 pos.

I've noticed if you leave it off of the 0 position for a while and go to do something else, the game registers as if you are holding the key press continuously. Happened in the heat of a fight when my thumb must've slipped and slightly turned the rotaries while working the throttle, and then other key presses weren't working and I couldn't figure out why at first.

Exactly! So make it a macro this way you can leave it where you want and the key press will time out as you set it.
