Hi there,

I hope it’s just me doing something wrong, but here is a little scenario I flew today.

I have F-18 loaded with 4 GBU-38 and four targets to destroy.

I use PP Mode where I have PP1, PP2, PP3, PP4 with manually entered coordinates and elevation for four different targets located close by. When I’m in range to drop first GBU-38 using PP1 and I push the release button PP2, PP3 and PP4 are crossed-out and they loose all data that were stored in there.

And idea?

PP targets are stored per-weapon. If you programmed four targets into the same JDAM, they all disappear when you drop that JDAM.

When you finish typing in the target for the first JDAM, instead of pressing pp2, press step on the right side of the screen to select the next JDAM. Then you enter another pp1 for that weapon.

That is clear. However, as Wags said. If one bomb is to be dropped on one target, QTY should not be touched at all. So, I dont' touch it. I have already watched Wags' video and I saw stations being switch to next one upon selecting next PP...

I have just checked with AGM-154s, and it is all fine with them...

You don't set PP1, PP2, PP3, and PP4 for all weapons, you set PP1 for all weapons. Each weapon station (pylon) has its own set of PP targets. So station 2 has a set of 5, station 3 has a set of 5, etc. etc. for stations 7 and 8.

After you set PP1 for the first weapon, you don't set PP2, that will just add PP2 only for that weapon station, you step to the next station and set the PP1 for that station. If you have a BRU-55 then you'll need to use PP2 (down the line we'll be able to designate different PP targets between left and right on a single BRU-55).

The QTY function just lets you pickle multiple weapons with their own coordinates at (relatively) the same time. So for example, say you have 4 JDAMs, each JDAM has a PP1 set to a different target, and you're in range of all 4 targets. Regardless of which station you select as the active, if you use the QTY function to select all 4 stations, each JDAM will release and navigate to their PP1 target. All it does is minimize workload at time of release if the situation allows, that way you don't have to pickle 4 times.

So since each weapon station has a total of 5 possible PP targets, and 4 stations capable of smart weapons, you can have a total of 20 possible PP targets available at a time. Nice to have backups if your primary target moves or gets destroyed before you get there.
