xvii-Dietrich Posted July 7, 2019 Posted July 7, 2019 The SA342L variant of the Gazelle in DCS carries a rocket pod with 8 rockets. These are high-explosive types. Did the real-life Gazelle ever carry other types of rockets? (I'm thinking smoke-marker rockets or illumination rockets?)
Count von Altibar Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 Have heard of a SA341B used by the British Army modified to carry 68mm SNEB rockets. A slightly large image of the Lebanese helicopter with said SNEB.

Ramsay Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 (edited) Did the real-life Gazelle ever carry other types of rockets? (I'm thinking smoke-marker rockets or illumination rockets?) The rocket pod equipped to the DCS Gazelle looks to be a 68mm TDA Digital Rocket Launcher (Telson 8 ) that supports HE Impact, HE Multi-mode (light vehicle or air-burst), Target Marking/Training, Multi-frag (36 or 342 flechette) and laser guided rockets. A number of different rocket types were displayed along side airshow Gazelle statics. AFAIK only the Tiger has fired the SMPR (laser guided) rockets.
