Force direction of runway start

I would really appreciate an option to choose which end of the runway client/AI start at when being placed at an airbase in the ME. Much like a cold/hot client, there could just be a dropdown next to it for 21R, 21L, 03R and 03L for Nellis as an example.

Wind direction controls that.

 

Except for Nellis, where typically 03R/L are for departures and 21R/L are for arrivals in real life. 03R/L arrivals are only for specific conditions if the aircraft is not carrying any ordnance. At least that's what I last recall from reading the official Nellis SOPs manual a long time ago. Gotta keep that golf course on the 03 end quiet for the players :music_whistling:

Also other airports like Batumi, where there's a significant obstacle at one end of the runway (e.g. mountains), you can only takeoff (and land) one way regardless of what the winds are.

the rule says that it must always take off against the wind. It is dangerous to take off in the direction of the wind.

This rule also applies to landings, you must always land against the wind.

Okay, this isn't about weather or obstacles. I understand all of that.

 

I want to start a mission at Nellis and takeoff 21L or 21R. Can I do that? I do not believe I can. That is what I was asking about.

+1, I get the thing with the wind, I get that this is the procedure but even so, just because something is done a certain way should necessarily mean it should be the only way. It's a fairly poor argument, I know it's not strictly realistic.
