S77th-GOYA Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Has anyone tried it here? I'm just scratching the surface as far as building a mission and of course, no matter how much work you put into it, you still can't shoot anything. But it has capabilities like no other mission builder I've seen. I just wish it was more user friendly. There are triggers galore and you can add 3D objects of whatever you might dream up. If you're not familiar with it and have FSX Deluxe, look on disk 1 and install the SDK and then SP1 for the SDK (download it). Then load a free flight and open it under the tools menu. From the looks of it, I would think the ability to drop bombs would be possible, but a lot of work with limited functionality. If you have FSX and haven't tried the default missions, try them. Some are quite challenging and some are quite fun.
FWT Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Aaah FSX i played it on my mates comp with an Eurofighter and harrier addon, great game.
Grimes Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 I havn't messed around to much with the missions yet. Still trying to learn the pits and such. Honestly the tutorials in LO are much better than FSX just because they help you learn each pit with the general keybindings. I'm just using it to get used to 6DoF and clickable pits :D The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. FWT Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Can you takeoff verticaly with it? We were playing with the STOL RAF version but i think VTOL is available, just look around.
S77th-GOYA Posted September 26, 2007 Author Posted September 26, 2007 VTOL works with the Osprey. I haven't tried a Harrier.
FWT Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Here's one example i found of a VTOL harrier for FSX. http://flyawaysimulation.com/article1811.html
Aeroscout Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 I'll have to try it, but i still have to finish the regular missions first. FSX is actually quite a good game! (despite it's bad reviews) And i love the structured missions. DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices
