Airhunter Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 There's nothing classified about the ANAPG71. It took me a whopping 5 minutes to find documents about it's performance, testing, variants, technical data... all in one report on the internet. And this report was back from 1999. I don't know if it was classified back then and it was just released later or not.. but CURRENTLY it's information that the public has now. It's NOT classified. It is classified. Specific technical information and more in depth documentation is not publically available. You can't build an APG-71 with the data you claim to have found. There is a reason the publically available NATOPS for the F-14D is missing all the radar and weapons section.
SkateZilla Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 and Iran has lost 2 F-14s this month, not one. Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs

I just confirmed with several active duty AEs, the F-14D Weapons, Radar and Countermeasure systems are all classified. To simulate something accurately, you need to rebuild it digitally, and you cannot do that with documents on MATS or any other website, not with the manuals available on the web. Kev2go Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 and Iran has lost 2 F-14s this month, not one. These articles are few weeks Part but are literal copy pastes describing the same incident. https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/one-irans-last-f-14a-tomcats-just-crashed-65241 https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/rip-another-iranian-f-14a-tomcat-just-bit-dust-68577 There was also a crash reported by a different media outlet in may. Also the same copy paste material. https://theaviationgeekclub.com/more-details-and-picture-of-the-recent-iriaf-f-14a-tomcat-crash/ This is fishy. Sorry this comes off as lazy plagiarized journalism if not disinformation to report on the same incident 3 times and claim them as separate crashes. I'm aware of that, but there was a crash, there's just no details, so shoddy journalists copy/paste, the same way the photoshop. I never said I need or could BUILD one.. but heatblur doesn't need to BUILD one.. they need to know how it operates so they can use it in a sim. Considering the specs are the type of thing they need... I don't see a problem. Also, if it's so classified why is that information on the net at all? That makes zero sense. Try looking up the IRST from the F-14D... you literally can't find ANYTHING about it other then stuff saying it exists etc.
csdigitaldesign Posted July 26, 2019 Author Posted July 26, 2019 I just confirmed with several active duty AEs, the F-14D Weapons, Radar and Countermeasure systems are all classified. To simulate something accurately, you need to rebuild it digitally, and you cannot do that with documents on MATS or any other website, not with the manuals available on the web. All that stuff is in the SAME document and when you ask them for that document with stuff in it that's still classified, guess what, they will tell you it's classified. Doesn't matter if only one thing or all things are classified. We already know the 1A document is classified. The only thing left in there that's keeping it classified is the IRST. So you are basically saying "Oh no, it's definitely classified because the document is classified, all of it"... but you do so without really doing any research to find that you can FIND INFORMATION easily about those other systems. You can't find ANYTHING about that IRST... because that's what classified. And that is talked about in that document... and thus why it's still classified. That was the whole point I tried to show Heatblur.... and they are looking into it to see if they can't lobby them to give them all non-classified information from the supplemental manual. All the stuff back when the manual was made WAS classified. All of it. All of it is no longer classified, only in part... and that part is holding it back from being released. The U.S. Government isn't going to go back and rewrite all that especially stuff about a decommission plane just so that only the parts that are still classified are in that document. They just will leave it classified until it in its entirety is no longer classified.
