napocapo69 Posted July 27, 2019 Posted July 27, 2019 Someone posted this issue in another (read only) thread. The runaway lights are almost invisible even at night. This is not realistic. I know what a runway looks like at night during a landing and actually I live few hundreds meters from an airport. Why this weird choice?
ac5 Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 Indeed! Why ON EARTH this weird choice????? Zeagle Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 All the night lighting is too dim. The cities are way too muted too.
seth0s Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 The problem is that they are only textures and not light sources. Vegas looks like this with me, but with flickering. The runway is also very dark with me. (google translator) AMD Ryzen 9 3900x - NVidia 4080 - 32GM RAM - Win 11 64-bit Quest3 - ne Riesenmenge SSDs cam.em-key.de
Zeagle Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 They don't have to be light sources. Brightness is determined by whatever illumination is affecting the textured surface and the color values of the texture itself. So, they can brighten up the illumination and increase the contrast on the textures.
nighthawk2174 Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 Seems to be a problem with all pinpoint light sources. IMO this is caused by FOV changes, as the FOV changes there is no scalar applied to the lights. In addition to them being way to dim in the first place only makes them next to impossible to see.

Nealius Posted August 12, 2019 Posted August 12, 2019 This is especially bad in VR. I can't see runway lights until within 7nm or so, and even then I have to zoom. Even fires from burning tanks disappear beyond 7nm for me. It definitely seems to be a wider lighting issue and not just isolated to runways.
