Why does SteamVR start up every time I visit the DCS web page? It's the only website that does this and I get fed up switching off SteamVR only for it to restart repeatedly as I browse the page, even though I have my headset and sensors switched off.

It's getting to the point where I'll soon stop visiting the site.

Already disabled - not a Big Screen fan.

There is no reason for the website to do this as far as I am aware.

very odd

My thoughts, too, hence posting about it. Not just that - this is in Waterfox browser (a simplified, slimmed-down version of Firefox), which has no VR support and is what I use for general browsing and reading.

I'll see if Firefox does the same, though I'm using installed Waterfox vs Firefox portable.

I'll also try and find any info relating to Waterfox and SteamVR, might be some inconspicuous connection.

Edit: - Just found this 2 year-old thread on the Oculus forum that shines some light on the subject:

Okay I fixed it - details to follow shortly :)

Well it seems Waterfox does have VR support - which atm I don't require.

So - as suggested in the Oculus thread I typed About:config into the address bar, and got a warning that this voids the software warranty (wasn't even aware there was one, so no loss...)

I continued and then entered "VR" into the search bar - this is what returned:

Simply clicking on a line changes the value from "true" to "false" and vice-versa, so I did this:

Screen-Shot002.jpg

and that fixed it :)

Thanks for the input.
