-akyla- Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Thank you, thank you, thank you very very much !!!! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
tflash Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Wow, the Russians DO have some impressive panzer / AAA gear! What we really need in BS is dugged in/camo armour and smoke grenades. As it is now, taking out BTR's, strela's and other schilka's is way to easy in the A-10. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Force_Feedback Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 It's not a radar wave deflector, his description says it's a dummy Tor, but I think he meant Buk There's even a Tunguska M2 out there. Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:

Force_Feedback Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Yeah, and I thought you meant that black cloth-thing. Cool to see them practice against ground based targets as well. I could never believe the Falanga was used as a real air defence target, but it seems that thing can gain quite some altitude. Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
EvilBivol-1 Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 According to official reports, the exercise included a low-RCS target(s?), defined as "0.01m^2." So far, it isn't clear which type of target drone could have provided such a profile though, so there is some speculation about this claim - or at least the specific RCS. Overall performance ranged from "satisfactory" to "good" for all participants except the Buk, which received an "unsatisfactory" rating. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Brit_Radar_Dude Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 http://pilot.strizhi.info/photos/d/5231-1/IMG_7966_sm.jpg I love that the OSA's driver has customized it with a set of air horns! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Sorry Death, you lose! It was Professor Plum....

EvilBivol-1 Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 I love that the OSA's driver has customized it with a set of air horns! That is actually the OSA-based drone launcher, called SAMAN. Polish army used for Newa (SA-3) 122mm target drone (RCS 0,5m^2) This old Sam site shoot down this thing in full sucess ;)The Russians also use modified Grad as target drones. There are known Russian drones with a low RCS, but not as low as the claimed 0.01m^2 in this exercise, so it has brought on some questions. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. 3Sqn_Fudd Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Overall performance ranged from "satisfactory" to "good" for all participants except the Buk, which received an "unsatisfactory" rating. Meaning the operating teams performance or the systems performance? http://3sqn.com/forum/ Here's to 1.13 -- > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0488djMDBU
EvilBivol-1 Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 I guess it's a general battery grade, probably based on the success of achieving the objective, which was to destroy the target(s). The Buk missed. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. The Parable of Jane's A-10 Forum Rules
