zippoa Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 In game F/A-18 can take off from grass. It can't to that in real life due to pressure on soil.
QuiGon Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 In game F/A-18 can take off from grass. It can?? I have never tried it, because pretty much all the other jet aircraft in DCS can't, so I never thought the Hornet could either. Sounds like a bug indeed. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
ED Team NineLine Posted August 20, 2019 ED Team Posted August 20, 2019 I'm not sure this is a bug, would depend on the conditions, not to mention weight vs thrust, the Hornet does take a lot more to get it rolling, and I don't think we are simulating mud around airfields. David OC Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 (edited) It's seems to be not as harsh as some aircraft? Need to test more. I've seen guy's (Have footage) landing next to the FARP's in MP and rearm and refuel, then takeoff. Can be a bit of an exploit, not needing to fly another 80nm to rearm, when you can rearm with the harrier. Shouldn't all (or most of) the other jet fighters be able to do that as well then? Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
