LtSpoon Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Hey Got my Reverb yesterday but i just can not get it to work. After first start, the Reverb works for 10 Minutes. After the 10 Minutes i gets a shut down | Blackscreen and Windows says : Plug the Reverb into a USB 3+ Slot. I tested several USB Ports, everytime same Issue. WMR-Portal Failure Code: 1-4 / Check Cabel Superspeed USB 3.0 Port Its a new Asus ROG Strix Z390 E Gaming Board. Latest Bios, Win 1903 with all Updates. For Testing i connected the Reverb with the PC from my Son with the same error during the 1st installation: "No detection of USB 3.0 Superspeed". Thats not possible, its an Asus Prime B350 with 2 USB 3.1 Gen 2 Ports ! This morning, next test. And "wow", Reverb still works again. But only 2 Minutes. After the 2 Minutes the same as yesterday. Shut down and windows Error USB 3.0+ Superspeed Error. Can someone help or is my new Reverb dead ? Thx ! Spoon PS. Sry for my English, but School is long ago :( AMD 7800X3D | Asus TUF Gaming X670E Plus | Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 64GB @6000MHz| NVIDIA 4090 FE | DCS only @ M.2 WD SN850X 1TB | Pimax Crystal Light | TM Warthog | TM Pedals | | My F-18 Rogers SimPit
kzial Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 You can try to update your motherboard USB drivers. Also try to test the headset with all unnecessary USB devices unplugged (sometimes the bandwidth is shared among several USB plugs) and make sure that the headset is alone on it's USB controller.

Baldrick33 Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Just to confirm if it is overheating it might be worth trying it with a fan pointed at it. Not suggesting this is the solution but might help diagnosing if the issue is at the headset end or PC. Greyman Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Maybe try turning off power management on the associated USB device(s), via Device Manager.

Macka Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 (edited) What power supply are you running. I had usb issues when I ran a 750w and upped to 850w and no usb issues since. I also have an Incitek internal PCI usb 3 hub which I had to use previously with other HMDs but now the reverb is direct on MB top usb ports. I have same MB. H version not the E version. Unfortunately if you tested on another PC you may have faulty Reverb/Cable.....hope not! LtSpoon Posted August 24, 2019 Author Posted August 24, 2019 Its an Corsair RM750x. That should be enough  I found out something new. Sometimes, when I plug the Reverb in after a reboot, it goes for about 2-5 minutes. Then Black Screen and USB Failure  Sometimes a Data-Failure, and after that the USB Failure AMD 7800X3D | Asus TUF Gaming X670E Plus | Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 64GB @6000MHz| NVIDIA 4090 FE | DCS only @ M.2 WD SN850X 1TB | Pimax Crystal Light | TM Warthog | TM Pedals | | My F-18 Rogers SimPit
Macka Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Your probably getting a bit frustrated at this point. I would put it down to the Reverb as it was a similar issue to the early adapters with cable and usb probs so bite the bullet and get a new one sent. One of the bad ones might have slipped though into the new batch. Its a pain in the ass but I assure you its worth it when you get a good one. I cant go back to my Vive Pro after this. I am assuming you got a gen 2. Mine is made in week 30 and hasnt had a single issue. What is the 4th 5th and 6th digits in the serial number. It should say 930, or 924 etc. If its 929 or above Ithink, it should be a new one 2nd gen. There is a post earlier on in this thread with the corresponding dates etc. There we were....two against a thousand.....so what'd we do....Shotem' both!!!! wormeaten Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Try one test. Remove all USB devices you got plugged it in, leave only Reverb and then try it out. Point is to minimize power draw from MBO USB controller. (USB controller is not equal as a connector) If this happened again return unit. If not buy PCI-e USB card with separate power supply. You have examples in this thread just look backward.

Shortcut Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Do Not use the Inatek PCI-e Card Drivers. My Reverb would not work with there drivers. I contacted Inatek and they told me to completely remove there drivers from my PC then restart the PC and let Windows load the Windows drivers. After I completed doing that everything worked great. 13700K, MSI Z690 D4 Edge wifi, Swiftech H360X3 Cooling with Corsair Water Block, Gigabyte 4090 OC, 64gb Trident Z 3600 CL16, Evga 850W G2 power supply, Moza AB9, Virpil Apha Prime on order, Winwing Orion 2 Viper, TM Warthog, MFG Crosswinds With Damper, TrackIR 5, HP Reverb 2, Pimax Crystal
Baldrick33 Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 I love it...thx for that Info. Did you buy another PCI-E Card thats works with the Reverb ?Just don't install the Inateck drivers. Plug the card in, let Windows install it and it should be fine. I naturally think it better to load the manufacturers drivers rather than the generic Windows ones but it doesn't seem to work in this case! LtSpoon Posted August 31, 2019 Author Posted August 31, 2019 I sent my reverb back to the seller. Was it maybe an old generation? Serial number was 931 ?? Since yesterday I have a new from HP directly, with the serial number 932 and have no more USB problems! I was able to fly the first few hours yesterday and I'm thrilled. Many thanks to all who wanted to help me :) AMD 7800X3D | Asus TUF Gaming X670E Plus | Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 64GB @6000MHz| NVIDIA 4090 FE | DCS only @ M.2 WD SN850X 1TB | Pimax Crystal Light | TM Warthog | TM Pedals | | My F-18 Rogers SimPit
