av8r13 Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 Hello, i am new to mission building and have a question. when building a single player mission i prefer to use "client" as opposed to "player" as it allows me to effectively build several missions onto one file. my question is; does client take more resources or slow frame rates in relation to player? i know that client is primarily for multi-player, so i am wondering if this will effect my performance (FPS) in any way by using client instead of player. thanks in advance
pepin1234 Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 (edited) Client is for MP. Also work for SP. you will have the option to change aircrafts when you run units. set to client in SP missions when you want use more than one aircraft. Just be careful not to set Client and then Player at the same time edition, because ones you set player all the rest change to AI skills automatic Edited September 2, 2019 by pepin1234 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
av8r13 Posted September 2, 2019 Author Posted September 2, 2019 thanks Pepin. the other question that i have is will i see a reduction in FPS (compared to "player") if i use client. thanks again
feefifofum Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 It shouldn't have any effect on playability. The "Player" setting will force the user into that aircraft slot as soon as the mission loads, and will allow access to some additional features such as items in the scoring system pertaining to structured campaigns. The "Client" setting will require the user to select the airframe, even if there is only one "Client" slot, after the mission loads. THE GEORGIAN WAR - OFFICIAL F-15C DLC
Rudel_chw Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 when building a single player mission i prefer to use "client" as opposed to "player" as it allows me to effectively build several missions onto one file. I do the same on many practice missions, to have the option for example to start on the runway, or parked hot or parked cold. my question is; does client take more resources or slow frame rates in relation to player? i know that client is primarily for multi-player, so i am wondering if this will effect my performance (FPS) in any way by using client instead of player. I have never noticed any impact on FPS that could be attributed to this For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
