[NO BUG]HOTAS - RAID/FLIR FOV Select Button - no action with TGP & MAV

OK,

 

How about this one, I am not sure if this is to be expected but in the attached tracks you can see how I can freely change FOV and switch CCD/FLIR with the throttle RAID/FLIR FOV Select Button.

 

This works fine until I select Maverick E.

 

The second attached track shows how RAID/FLIR FOV Select Button works fine up until the point where I go A/G mater mode and select Maverick.

 

With Maverick selected and still a diamond active in FLIR format I can no longer use throttle RAID/FLIR FOV Select Button, however pressing corresponding pushbuttons works fine.

you will need to use the push buttons on the DDI to change zoom for the TGP

The IMAV page takes FOV priority for the RAID/FLIR FOV switch, but are we sure it's the same for the LMAV, since there's no FOV to speak of (unless you refer to the scan pattern, but I don't think the switch changes that).

Or is it just that the MC treats both cases the same?

It does seem to work the way BIGNEWY explained for both Maverick versions, I wonder if a real thing works like that as well.

 

It would seem to add extra workload if a pilot needs to deselect MAV on stores format before manipulating this with HOTAS rather than pushbuttons.

Yeah, I actually find it useful for the IMAV, since it allows to ripple fire IMAVs. 1. Designate with the TGP, 2. IMAV FOV zoom-in, 3. Fire. And you don't need to change TDC priority away from the TGP.
